Helen listens very carefully to the brief, and that hasn't changed since I first met Helen in 2011. Now in 2020, Helen still has that eye for detail and line that makes her standout from the crowd; I think her background as a sculptor provides the difference. We've worked on buildings including a Victorian villa, and early 18th century cottages and the designs have stood the test of time. On our cottage below, the plans were completed but we came to Helen for some much-needed finetuning which included: the board on board larch entrance and the single-pane former entrance window.

We were lucky to be able to retire to a lovely Victorian house by the sea. It was in need of modernization and after viewing the extensive portfolio of Studio Kap we commissioned them to help. Throughout the project Helen and Chris have been great advisors. Always willing to listen to our wishes and adding their expertise to create our dream house. Nothing is too much trouble and they have always kept us informed of progress. We would highly recommend them to anyone else wanting to realise their dream.

I have found their small team both congenial and reassuringly professional. At the end of 2009 we decided to downsize and build a retirement house in our garden. We wished to build as ecological a house as we could afford and contacted two architects for their advice. Both came up with excellent suggestions, but we felt that StudioKAP really understood where we were coming from. This started a wonderful relationship where we, as the clients worked together with the architects and the construction company to create the beautiful home that we moved into in 2011. We greatly valued the time that the architects spent with us at the beginning finding out what our needs and desires were, and the fact that they involved us, and listened to us, at every stage in decision making. So the house evolved into a beautiful, peaceful space which functions incredibly well as a home. We have now lived here for almost 9 years and would change almost nothing. Comments from family, friends and even strangers have all been very positive and we recommend StudioKAP wholeheartedly.
