When I was a kid my father was Director of Studies of St Giles School of English in the 70s, same site, interesting to see the inside of building, the extension at back rear of garden did not exist then. They used to hold parties for students that Id go to too on occasions on basement level. It looks oddly quite similar, even with modernisation.

(Translated by Google) Stayed here for 2 months a few years ago. Men and women of all ages gathered here, and when I counted the students I met, they came from 21 countries. Gathering people with different looks, different religions, and different ways of thinking is important in a different way from simply learning a language, and it was an experience that broadened my international sense. Actually, I came here as part of my company training, but from what I heard from my contemporaries who went to schools in urban areas such as London and Cambridge, those schools had fewer races and were more biased. They were all from China and South Korea. A super rich man from the Middle East, an Omani Air Force cadet, a man from a country I never knew existed called Jordan, a Kazakhstan civil servant, a Hong Kong girl, and an Italian wine farmer's son. It may have happened that Brighton was very cosmopolitan at that time, but it might be good if the number of ethnic groups was also a factor in choosing a school. (Original) 221
