I came across Tom's website in 2012 whilst searching for a bed for my first flat. Id found a bed with lots of storage on Tescos website, but it looked flimsy. I'd never worked with a furniture maker before, but Tom created a design based on the Tesco bed, and made it for us from sturdy reclaimed scaffolding boards, with underbed drawers, a headboard with a bookshelf and matching side tables, and instructions on how to assemble it (way easier than Ikea!). So its 2014 and I'd hunted for months for a storage unit to fit a space underneath a window, which turned out to be too narrow and too shallow for most units. So I went back to Tom! Id found some great linen baskets which Tom designed the unit around. He arranged delivery for a day which suited me, and the unit arrived today, all the way from Brighton to Edinburgh, incredibly well packed (cue polystyrene explosion!) in perfect condition. In total it took 10 weeks from my email to delivery, and yes, it did cost more than Ikea or Made, but for that we now have a beautiful, custom designed, hand-made high quality solid oak unit.
