Brighton E-bikes

Have been looking at getting an ebike for some months and after looking online I came across Brighton Ebikes and was very impressed by the number of bikes they had converted using the Bafang mid drive motor. The website has a gallery of photos of bikes converted for customers and an extensive online store showing Bafang conversion kits and relevant batteries. Plus extensive accessories and motor parts and tools. I contacted Darren by email had received extensive reply on advise on conversion of my Marin Bear Valley Mounrain bike that was purchased in 1990! Darren confirmed that he had converted these bike in the past and provide a great bike to convert to as ebike as I wanted a bike to assist with quiet roads and off road bike trails like converted railway line cycle ways. I arranged to visit Brighton Bikes in March to pick up the Bafang motor and battery and I took my Marin bike for Darren to check it over for suitability of conversion. Darren was extremely enthusiastic and provide much advise to convert the Marin bike. He set it up on his stand and attached a Bafang mid drive motor to check the chain alignment and gave general fitting and tuning advise. After taking up a lot of his valuble time on discussion of the conversion it was now for me to head home with the Bafang mid drive kit and battery for my ebike conversion. Darren had checked the Bafang motor and packed the drive mechanism with Mobil28 grease to ensure long life of the gearing etc. I can throughly recommend Darren and Brighton ebikes and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them if you are thinking of converting your bike or even getting Darren to convert it for you. Darren has an extensive knowledge of ebike conversions and overcoming any installation problems together with being able to supply parts and accessories and replacement components for the Bafang motors. My biggest concern in buying a complete ebike of the shelf was "what happens if it goes wrong" The kits that Brighton ebikes provide can be easily repaired. Darren informed that he had taken a Bafang mid drive motor totally apart and rebuilt it. All replacement parts are readily availability from the manufacturer so your bike can be up and running if a problem occurs. Such is the confidence that Darren gives that these electric motors are very reliable and can easily repaired. I bought a Bafang motor kit to fit to my mountain bike, from Brighton Ebikes, on a friends recommendation. Darren was very helpful with information and advice both before and after the sale. That was three years ago and since then the bike has done 6700km without any problems from the electric drive. The battery is getting a bit tired now, as you would expect, and Darren has again been helpful with advice about replacing it.

I recently collected 2 Bafang BBS01B-ETM 36V 250W mid-drive kits from Brighton e bikes and met Darren He is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and the time he spent with me will save hours of frustration down the line when fitting. One bike will be tricky to fit and Darren immediately recognised this and offered really solid helpful advice. I would not hesitate in recommending Brighton e Bikes and it was a real pleasure meeting Darren!
