Jurassic Coast studio

We stayed at the Durbeyfield during a weeks wonderful painting course with Louise Balaam in Sept 2021. Both Ruta and Simon were magnificent hosts and looked after everyone on the course so well. The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The studio facilities and its proximity to some great landscapes helped to make this a memorable occasion. Highly recommended.

Ruta and Simon really put themselves out to make our week an excellent one. They set out the studio for us, supplied solvent free mediums and set up space outside for painting there too. The meals were sumptuous. Louise Balaam as tutor was icing on the cake. She was sensitive to our individual needs and supported everyone in their work as needed.

Spent a very enjoyable week learning to paint while staying at The Durbeyfield. Our small group were taught by the fabulous Louise Balaam and hosted by the guest house owners Ruta and Simon. The teaching was truly inspirational and we were incredibly well looked after. Cant wait for a repeat...
